EWG VERIFIED® is a mark from the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit organization. It follows a published set of health standards developed by EWG’s research team.
Products that carry the mark are free from EWG’s chemicals of concern and meet EWG’s strictest criteria for transparency and healthfulness. To earn it, a personal care company has to submit detailed information confirming that its product avoids ingredients that authoritative health bodies have flagged for potential health concerns, fully discloses its ingredients, is adequately preserved and free of contaminants, and is made following good manufacturing practices.
